Welcome

Welcome to the site of the Manawatu Smallbore Rifle Association (MSRA)

Smallbore rifle shooting is shooting targets with with .22 rifles and air rifles.  In winter we hold our events indoors on 25 yard ranges, while in sumer our events are shot outdoors on 50m ranges.

MSRA are current holders of the Rees Scroll (Teams of Ten) and NDC Champions.  The association has a strong member base, and performs consistently amongst the best in New Zealand.

Teams of Ten 2012

Manawatu have successfully re-gained the Rees Scroll at Teams of Ten this weekend in Auckland.  The combined team total of 3921.203 was well ahead of second placed Wellington who shot a total of 3897.201.  Waikato were close behind Wellington in third.

Well done to all the team members, selectors and managers on this fine effort.

Also, it should be acknowledged that 2012 marks 50 years since Crellan Hooper participated in his first Teams of Ten shoot.  Crellan shot for the winning team from Wanganui as part of the 1962 Teams of Ten in Palmerston North (incidentally, this was only the second ever Rees Scroll match)

NDC Round 01

Despite a few shooters not having their best night, the Marauders claimed a comprehensive 14-0 victory over the Marlborough Suns last night.  Jack Cavanagh earned the sole bonus point with a 100 in the juniors.  Also Helen Freiman and Patrick Power claimed the top two aggregate scores of the round with a 299.18 and 298.18 respectively.
